I had filled up the tank with $2.83 worth of premium when the odometer read 60 miles.
I filled it up again today (took $2.80) and it read 155.
So that's ninety five miles on a approximately 1 gallon!
That's awesome. Maybe if Oahu just simply made some moped/scooter only lanes, traffic can be resolved. Btw, I wasn't aware that moped/scooters needed premium?
The shop strongly suggested premium. I dunno.
She runs nice though. Since it's illegal to drive over the Pali...
I went from our place on Date Street, through Kahala, past Hanauma Bay, Sandy Beach, Makapuu, and Waimanalo to reach Mom's house in Kailua, this morning. Only took me the hour and it was a Great ride! I did a few errands around Kailua for her and came back home the same way. She cruises nicely at 35, will cruise at 40 and even do 45 when I make it. Just over 80 miles round trip and I enjoyed it all the way. Woo Hoo!
Life is either an adventure... or you're not doing it right!!!
Hard to carry bags of groceries on a moped (or a chopper).
Yeah, I've got a fairly large backpack to carry stuff. I considered one of those lockboxes for the back of the moped, but they really can't fit much either.

Lockbox or rack in the back and a basket in the front. Come on, if those guys in other countries can haul all kinds of cargo on their bikes, you can too.

I bought a large backpack just after I bought the chopper. Probably not "politically correct" to ride a chopper and wear a backpack, though.
About the Pali -- it's not that mopeds are illegal on it, it's just that they have a posted minimum speed of 45mph. That's the top speed of your moped, as I recall, and of course you won't get up to 45 going uphill. Your east end route is your best bet.
Also, the huge wind at the top of the Pali is a problem. Even the cops on motorcycles get blown over on their sides by the wind there sometimes!

Huh. I'll have to pay closer attention next time. I can't remember a minimum much less one that high. Hmmmm. If min is 45, wouldn't the speed limit be 55? I don't remember one that high. But then I know my powers of observation can be really bad.
I know there's areas that the speed limit is only 35.
