Me, I raise my hand, well, I used too. I did it for 20 years and now I've been smoke free for 11 1/2 years. Praise the Lord! I thought I would never quit, but I did.

I'm doing my best to quit smoking....

The patch works...but you sure want to keep your hands busy by eating or doing something else....

what worked for me was to figure out my trigger periods and try to rewire them for a month. In my case, it was during my commute. So I would combat this by buying bottles of funky liquids that I have no interest in, nor would ever try since (bizarre amp drinks, funky snapples, you know the kind). Yes, the majority of them tasted like butt, yet after a month, I then switched to bottled water.

Address your oral fixation with something healthy. And fill your hands up; a bottle in the palm is better than a deathstick between two fingers.

I stopped smoking and drinking Oct. 4th. Once I truly made the decision, it wasn't that hard keeping to it. No patches or fake beer just herbal teas and prayer.
It worked for me. Thanks God!

Also, did Bob Marley die of lung cancer? I know he was very young. Like mid-30's. They say Marijuana (when smoked) has something like 3 times the tar level of the strongest Cigarette on the market.

He actually died of melanoma, which is a good argument for everyone to wear sunscreen, but that's another thread.
