The Honokaa High School Jazz Band is touring Oahu this weekend. I caught this performance at Ala Moana Center a few days ago. The youngsters are very talented musicians and singers. They cover a wide variety of artists and styles including Etta James, Miles Davis, Tito Puente and others.

First us hangin' out for a bit at The International Market Place.
And for those that don't know the whole complex will be closed a year from now.
Then working on installing an anchor windlass/roller system aboard Kolohe with Don!

WOW, that is sad to hear! Is it getting shut down to make way for even more hotels and stuff? Any ideas? I loved it as a little oasis in the middle of all the hubbub. Those gorgeous old banyan trees are just amazing too.

From what I was told... It will be rebuilt as an open air marketplace and that the Banyans will be still there!

the building, while beautiful, is so cold, and heartless. . .we have said since it's opening and getting the accont, that the building has NO soul. . even talked about it maybe being built on cursed land, LOL! honestly, though, I wouldn't be surprised. . .
