Saw a late showing of the movie Dawn of the Planet of the Apes at the Ward Theater on Friday night (8/15/14).
To be honest I never saw the first movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes but other than wondering how the apes in this movie managed to first form some sort of community for themselves including riding horses, hunt with spears, have some sort of sign language and attempting to write English words. Overall this point doesn't hinder the movie.
The movie is about this group of apes who live north of San Francisco, next to a small hydroelectric dam that the a group of humans that live in San Francisco want to use the dam. Trouble is neither side knows the existence of the other and when first contact happens it didn't turned out well for either side.
