Re: Journey: New Lead Singer Arnel Pineda

Eldest spawn and I were talking about Journey last week as it was a hugely popular band when my kids were in high school. That was "their" music...not mine! I haven't attended a rock concert since my kids dragged me to Pat Benatar at the Arena during the early 80s! I vowed then..."Never again!" Loved Benatar but the audience was in total chaos!

Fast forward 25 years and I'd probably pull out all the stops to get a Journey ticket should they ever decide to come to Honolulu! Old dog. New tricks. My kids would be so proud!

Rock on, Arnel. You're doin' your momma proud.

    Don't stop believing!

After hearing the CBS show, I can't wish Arnel and the band enuf success.
I havn't been as moved by anything in a long time.

Steve Perry should call Neal now and explain that this is why he's held out on them for so long, even if he is just now realizing it.

i wonder how people will react to him in concert. will he be the one to make the between-song banter?

i wish i spoke tagalog. in the beginning of the clip, he says something about america. wonder what that was all about. anyone on HT able to translate?
I have a kinda hard time understanding the Manila accent, but basically he said to the dude Mike (offscreen) that he'll get a visa in America.

Too bad Journey and Cheap Trick won't be coming this way with Heart in June.

Has Cheap Trick ever played in Hawaii before?

Walmart.com now has the pre-order info' for the new Revelations album posted on their website, which includes audio track previews.

Revelation is a 3-disc CD and DVD set. It features the U.S. debut of lead singer Arnel Pineda. The first disc has 11 new songs, the second is made up of 11 re-recorded classics, and the third is a live, in-concert DVD.

    Release date: 6/03/08.

    $11.88
Listening to those samples, I can barely tell the difference between Perry and Pineda. Almost TOO identical. Still, he sounds fantastic. The 11 new songs sound promising and well-written, while retaining the classic Journey "sound".

Wow, that was awesome! Arnel sounds really good and has a lot of stage energy. I wonder if Journey will write new music with Arnel or just sing the old classics?
