The amount of songs that I have in my iTunes far outstrips the capacity for what I can put in my current high end iPod. I have a 40GB iPod and can only run selected play lists of music. I have to keep some room for spoken word content like podcasts and a handful of my favorite pictures.
My 2 iPod shuffles I have dedicated to specific iTunes play lists... one for current favorites and another for oldies.
I guess I should get a bigger iPod but still I won't be able to put all songs and additional content into that or any iPod from the collection of stuff I have on my hard drive.
Currently listening to "Find Out About Love" by Bachman Turner Overdrive off my Classic Rock of the 70s playlist.
My hubby just want to put all of his CD albums in his Ipod, regardless of what is in the album itiself.
I think he said he just want to try to put all of his entire album set in his Ipod.
I'm thinking about doing that myself. I find that I'm liking stuff that I didn't listen to before because it didn't grab me right away. Other stuff - I think I'll delete. I still do like it.
I'm in the slow process of putting all of my CD collections onto a big external hard drive. It has been ongoing now since about 2002. So far I'm up to about 12,600 tracks, though not all of them complete albums or even from my CDs. Many bought from iTunes Music Store and a now lately, Amazon.com MP3 Download store. Plus a few freebies that I have found around the net.
The following tracks were played late this morning on my iTunes:
Tulsa Time - Eric Clapton
Love Is A Rose - Neil Young
Wild Mountain Honey - Steve Miller Band
Breakdown - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
Love on the Moon - Sutherland Brothers & Quiver
Lay Lady Lay - Bob Dylan
Badge - Cream

This is what's on my car CDs that I play all the time and on my low-end MP3 player. I never tire of his voice and find it very relaxing.

The main reason for me getting an iPod Shuffle was so that I can listen to something when I am under nitrous oxide at the dentist office.
I loaded my iPod with a collection of "The Carpenters", some badly done James Bond instrumental movie themes (to be fair the Octopussy theme was one of the good sounding ones) and some TV themes I purchased from the iTunes store last week.
Been playing this mix for the last few days and yesterday was my dentist appointment for cleaning my teeth. As much as I like the theme from Hawaii Five-O, it's just not the right music to listen to while that ultrasound thing-am-jig is inside one's mouth. I had to inform the hygenist to pause while I switched the tracks to the Carpenters section.

So THAT'S why I love whipped cream from my Isi cream whipper so much!
I just finished playing some tune (don't know the name) that my daughter emailed to me complete with video of almost 5 year old mo`opuna doing his best Dancing with the Stars impression. Hysterical!!!!
I listen to my ipod shuffle when I have lengthy races, say a 20 or 30K race or better yet the marathon in a couple weeks, it makes the time seem to go by much faster and pleasant. I have music ranging from the Eagles, Perry Como, Peter Gabriel, George Harrison, Sinatra, Foreigner, etc.
i only have 5 songs on mine - i only listen to it to tune out the world and relax for 30 minutes at the ending of my day - helps with the relaxing process
in order
1. pour some sugar on me - Def Leppard
2. crash into me - Dave Matthews Band
3. this is the new s$%^ - Marilyn Manson
4. crazy - Aerosmith
5. enter sandman - Metallica
