The past 3 weeks of AI have been (for the most part) absolutely HORRIBLE - the last two nights being THE worst of all. Proves most of this year's contestants can't pull off a genre out of their element. Freddie Mercury really must have been turning in his grave. And next week they're gonna' sing Barry Manilow songs? My ears (and eyes) are already cringing.
When Fox screwed up last night and reran the first half twice, I thought I was having recurring nightmares.
Aside of that, Rockin' Chris and dancin' powerhouse Paris are still my fav's. Brian May hinted those were his choices as well.
They will be doing Rod Stewart's Great American Songbook...

This should be interesting.... Can Chris pull this week off?
For some reason I have yet to figure out, my TiVo picked up Tuesday's show, and...wow. That was scary. None of them have even a shred of Freddie's charisma and attitude. I'm beginning to think that no one can pull of Queen's songs but him.
I was kinda surprised that Queen even went to the dark side in the first place.

Don't forget to watch AI. A lot of really good performances tonight!

Chris, Paris and Ace--with Ace getting eliminated / As usual, Taylor is in the #1 spot.

Wow. Most of them blew it up tonight. What a contrast to last week's train wreck.
Perhaps the best performances of the season from Katharyn and Paris. Chicken skin, "replay that 4 times on the DVR" excellence.
I still don't understand why Taylor "Ray" is so popular. His vocals for the past 3 weeks have been absolutely horrible. An acceptible 'Wedding Singer' and really cool guy, but certainly not my idea of an 'American Idol'.

I agree on Kathryn and Paris. For no other reason than being 'picky', I would've like to have seen Paris dress a little more her age; a little less matronly. That was a beautiful suit she had on but she is, after all, 17! Kathryn, pure and simple, nailed it!

I certainly have a skeptical side to me when it comes to AI. That said, I think AI is hoping/pushing for a male winner based on the previous 4 season's results: 3 females, 1 male. Regardless, I'm pulling for Paris!
Bottom 3 were Chris, Paris & Ace--with Ace getting eliminated.
Next week is Andrea Bocelli, and the theme is "greatest love songs of all time".
I'm looking forward to that!

I don't think Rod Stewart's voice is good for singing the standards, but he sure sold a lot of his "Great American Songbook" albums (all 4 volumes) on Amazon today:
