    Re: Name that song...

You're right. I googled it and only found references to the song title, with come-ons to buy the album and ringtones, but nobody actually published the lyrics...

Actually, "That's OK you got no legs" is nearly half the lyrics of the "song."

Mostly it's a 1:27 drums/bass/guitar/vocal scat intro to another song, "You're Out Of Touch."

The lyrics to the entire song: "What's goin' on? Whoop! That's OK you got no legs, dance on your knees!"

"Dance On Your Knees" by Hall & Oates on the "Big Bam Boom" album.

      K-den. Nobody got my song.

...the title is "You are always in my Heart"

You are always in my heart
      Even though you're far away
I can hear the music of
      The song of Love
      I sang with you

You are always in my heart
And when skies above are grey
      I remember that you came
      And then and there
      The sun broke through

Just before I go to sleep
      There's a rendezvous I keep
And the dreams I always dream
      Helps me forget
      We're far apart...

I don't know exactly when dear
But until we meet again dear
And my darling till we do
You are always in my Heart!

From the movie of the same title!!!

Remember Dick Dale's home at the end of the Balboa Peninsula, overlooking the entrance channel into Newport Harbor and just across the street from the infamous bodysurfing spot called "The Wedge"? (California's version of Sandy Beach, for those who don't know.)
Dick Dale had a recording and rehearsal studio on the top floor of his house and you could often hear a mini-concert while they practiced.

Nope! Didn't know Dale lived in the area but, yes, I certainly remember The Wedge and the various news coverages of broken necks. Do you recall what years he lived there? Hopefully he had foresight and hung on to that property! Real estate in that area is higher than Hawaii, I've heard.

If I recall correctly, the home was finally sold in the early 1990s. He had lived there for decades, so I imagine he showed a profit.

Sidebar: my father had a chance to buy bare acres on Balboa Peninsula in the 1950s for about $15,000 an acre, either oceanfront or bayfront. An acre there today is worth, what, about three to five million?

And no, he didn't buy in at the time. Kicked his own okole about that until the day he died.

(Sorry for the thread drift, folks.)

Back on topic...I'd post some obscure lyrics to a Dick Dale tune but I remember his music was mostly, if not entirely, instrumentals. So:

                    la li la la...strum...strum
                    NAME THAT SONG!

$15,000/acre? <faint!> I doubt there are any acre parcels left. And now I'm jonesing for a Crab Cooker meal!

Lahaina. I remember that song during high school and I even won the album "Full Sail" from KKUA.
