How much more does it rain in the Kaneohe area as compared to other areas (such as Kailua, Manoa, Waikik, or Leeward)? Obviously, I know it rains more, except for Manoa, but is it always raining? Is it heavy continuous rain or semi-frequent rain showers?

See our previous discussion on microclimates. Rain amounts can vary almost literally from block to block.
Waikiki is on the leeward side, and the entire leeward side gets far less rain than the windward side, for obvious reasons.
Rain in Kaneohe is mostly 'blessings' -- light rain and very brief (maybe 5 or 10 minutes), and usually bright sunshine right after.
What we always tell tourists is that if you don't like the weather where you are on the island, just drive a few miles.

Yes, but do they read?

...they are reported to be fairly harmless (or so I've read!).
