Re: Quiz: Hawaii company names inspired by songs and movies

As long as we're going for a stretch..... I can hum the tune from the toy Jack in the Box.....does that count as a song that inspired the drive through restaurant chain of the same name?

Robert O. Peterson, who founded Jack in the Box says he named it for his favorite childhood toy.

The original name was Topsy’s Drive-in in San Diego in 1941. Drive-ins were immensely popular, and soon he had four locations and had changed the name to Oscar’s.

In 1951, Peterson developed the nation’s first drive-through restaurant and called it Jack in the Box, which had been his favorite childhood toy.

"Happy Trails" by Dale Rogers, can be hummed while you are riding a horse at Happy Trails Hawaii stables.

                  Good going SouthKona.

While waiting for Costco gas last night, I saw a banner for Wisteria Lane (Desperate Housewives).

Re: Quiz: Hawaii company names inspired by songs and movies

I drove past a store I hadn't seen before, on Kapiolani near Shabu Shabu - Princess Brides.

I think that brings us up to 53 Hawaii companies (we've identified) whose names are associated with movies, books, songs and TV shows.
