  • Re: What's for Lunch - Chapter 11

Definitely not a mid-morning snack... I try not to eat a mid-afternoon snack, but sometimes i give in and eat something when my will power is low... But more often than not, I do not eat an afternoon snack - I just wait until dinner time. Yes, I do get hungry, but it makes me feel like I am achieving my goal of losing weight... is that kind of a twisted way of thinking?

                            ooh, just leftovers.

of course, just leftovers, when eric's the cook, means:

pressure cooker bourboned shoyu pork loin
                            goya & tuna champuru
                            brown rice

can i say mmmmmmmmm? i'm pretty sure i did, several times, whilst devouring lunch!

dessert was six teaspoonfuls of ben & jerry's steven colbert's americone dream flavored ice cream (vanilla ice cream w/ribbon of caramel & broken pieces of chocolate covered waffle cone...doesn't that sound totally drool-worthy??!!). and yes, i seriously had only six teaspoonfuls...or more correctly, measured tablespoons, i suppose.

The senior citizen club's cooking contest was a success! Lunch consisted of 15 different entrees. From starches like fukujinsuke rice, hotdog/veggie rice roll, and hot/spicey fried rice, to main dishes like chili, meatloaf and chicken with an oyster sauce based gravy. Dessert was fresh mango in gelatin over cream cheese with shortbread crust, and various jello molds with fruits.

Everything was onolicious, and I'm so glad I didn't enter the contest as I was able to catch up on my paperwork!
