    ''What’s not been written much about, and I think won’t be obvious even in Civil Beats candidates questionnaires, is how many candidates are running simply because they opposed Covid related restrictions and mandates. Basically anti vax folks. Course it’s ridiculous since their single issue is now moot. But I fear the impact their anti science views might have in other policy areas should they be elected. While council rarely grapples with moral questions the way the State Leg does, science is still important. I wish civil beat had asked candidates a yes or no question, “do you believe Covid vaccines saved lives?”

    FUCKING TRASH!!!!!! $15MIL more for the terrorist homeless industry = NOT 1 NEW HOME OR REDIDENCE????
    concentrate on "core" programs. make it illegal to deny section 8. give state funds to homeless transitional services. cap the profit margin of housing developers to 25% instead of 960%. money for "behavioral services". investigate all cash transactions in real estate market, according to the Miami Herald 90% of new construction sales in 2015 were cash deals (mostly money laundering). penalize rental agencies that refuse to compete and lower the cost of their rental units after sitting vacant a few months. demand that all that land that was acquired by the rail via eminent domain, be set aside for median income housing.

    more typical BS from CB mods who permit shitheads to spew exactly the trash they're supposed to keeping out to maintain civility, yet will stifle accurate replies.
    KalihiValleyHermit, a frequent abusive lying pos said freely;
    In older days this was the Obama card. Or have we already forgotten about what Edward Snowden revealed to the world about all of the surveillance & phone records being collected by the NSA. All in the name of national security...of course! This kind of stuff does not happen on only one side of the political aisle.

    inexplicably CB continues the fallacy of headlining 'permanent housing' despite their own experts admitting there's no such thing
    just like they still believe PIT counts at 1/3 the actual numbers of homeless

    THIS should be the headline and dive in deep from there, 'Hawaii has three options — let the disease continue to kill people, lock down the economy again, or get more shots in arms'. this entire article only got to the bone at the very end without giving us the beef, wtf?
    instead of wasting space with, ''A Pandemic For The Unvaccinated'' which is nothing but a recap when we need voices screaming sanity in the face of doom as we spiral out of control again with 0 hope in sight. this State must quarantine 100% for 3mos, but they've decided long ago to force us to live with covid regardless of the death toll. yet CB shy away from blaring warnings no matter how late or providing info and constructive ideas, then painfully honest comments to fill the gaps aren't published cos the truth hurts. just like they've always had a problem with an accurate count of the 10K homeless, they only run with the bogus minimal time in place count of 5K, or any review of the local 'homeless industry'. https://www.civilbeat.org/2021/07/ch...-unvaccinated/

    lol this is the same shit we've heard from hater / racists since forever ''Ever since I started paying attention ten or so years ago, I noticed time and time again that many people who pay for groceries with EBT cards have fancier phones and shoes than my family can afford and drive away in cars we can only dream of. Back in California, I knew people who received a slew of public benefits, including free housing, and always had far more money to spend on stuff than I had despite having a good job. Some people would say than figuring out how the system works and how to milk it is just part of the hustle. Many would certainly fault me for being jealous. But I am not jealous - I am sorry for these people. I am greatly concerned for the future of the American society. I have seen first-hand how an onset of a dependency culture destroyed the land where I was born and raised. It would be a great loss for the world if the same were to happen to America.'' at least this pos qualified it by making sure everybody knows they ain't jealous lol
    CB mods might as well be based out of some Southern redneck stronghold where their toilet papers print this trash daily.
    of course any proper / factual response would never be allowed by CB censors, there'd be a ton by now if they did.

    ''I feel sorry for the police who have to waste their time trying to enforce these policies. Issuing concealed carry permits (like we are supposed to) and implementing stand your ground laws would really make criminals think twice.''
    these cretins don't even think once before spewing hate and blood lust but CB will publish such bait but likely no 'real' reply.
