Re: Stories of good Haoles of HI
A few things . . . .
Harpoon, A little short sighted/narrow minded, don't you think ?
I am a haole - but I will admit that when I'm on my way to Waikiki to sell sell sell and I get stuck behind some tourist who can't stop looking at the harbor or anything but the road, I think to myself, "idiot haole!" And then I remember where I'm lucky enough to live and just deal with it.
I cannot give you any "Stories of being a Good Haole" about me. I'm rotten to the core.
Interesting sort of off topic, I've heard another "definition" of haole from a Hawai'ian. Her explanation was the while the literal translation is without breath, she adamatly (sp?) understood it to be "foreign breath," i.e. no speaka da language.
See ya.
