Regardless of the “official conclusions” of the autopsy, there is reasonable doubt, at this point, as to whether Cyrus Belt was alive when Higa through him from the freeway overpass. So says two witnesses’ testimony.

Well I'm certainly glad that baby Cyrus' mother is not home all depressed about the death of her baby, and that she is able to continue her everyday life unabashed.

Cyrus Belt's mother was in Circuit Court twice yesterday, once to learn the fate of the man accused of killing her toddler son, and a second time to answer to a charge that she robbed a man of $7,000.Nancy Chanco, 35, pleaded not guilty to second-degree robbery. She remains free on $25,000 bail pending her trial later this year. The charge stems from a Nov. 11 incident in which a man reported to police that Chanco allegedly took his money while they were in his vehicle at an area known as "Castle Rock" in Maunawili at about 1:19 a.m.

      Meanwhile,
A state judge found an admitted methamphetamine addict guilty yesterday in the death of a toddler thrown from an H-1 pedestrian overpass. Circuit Judge Dexter Del Rosario ruled that Matthew Higa "intentionally or knowingly" caused the death of Cyrus Belt, 23 months old, on Jan. 17, 2008.

Now run along and play, but don’t get into trouble.
