One little glimmer of good news coming out of this sad story: only 1 of the fighting dogs confiscated in the raid on Michael Vick's estate will have to be euthanized. The others will go to a sanctuary where staff will attempt to socialize them enough so that they can be placed with families or put to work as police dogs.

All but one of the dogs seized in the Michael Vick dog fighting case will be placed with families or put in a "sanctuary," where they will interact with people to overcome their fear and lack of socialization, according to court order filed Monday.
