Oh yeah, the first amendment. Right.
Next thing you know, Erika will be telling people what kind of clothes they can wear (because God forbid some punk kid has a T-shirt on with verbiage she doesn't agree with), or a bookstore what kind of books they can and cannot sell, because she won't have her kids exposed to whatever she terms offensive.

I know, I know... you wouldn't really do that, would you?

Harping on the First Amendment is a mighty slippery slope.

I'm not harping on the first amendment -- I'm just complaining about some people's insensitive applications of it on bumper stickers and other displays that are visible to the public.
I've seen LOTS of punk kids with T-shirts I find offensive. I can't stand it, but I don't yell at them or scowl at them or anything.
I know full well that those people, punk kids, punk grownups, whoever, have a right to express whatever objectionable thing they want.
I don't have the right to control other people's freedom of expression -- but I DO have the SAME RIGHT to say that I don't like it. I can even express that I think it's shameful and reflects badly on them.
Rights often come with responsibilities -- and I think the First Amendment is a prime example.

Absolutely. That's why I've always admired you Erika... not only are you a pretty lady, but you're an incredibly intelligent and eloquent woman as well.

                  Re: Stupid bumperstickers

Personally I find it offensive that language is offensive. And the same with sex, a natural act. Just sayin' perhaps we all need to lighten up...

Of course at the time of my authoring this I'm a young guy and my tune may very well change when I have kids of my own, hehe.
"Hey fool, we gots yo leada!"
"But I can't even read good."
"Whatever that means, you ____ peasant."
"That (stuff) is the MOST BALLER THING EVAAA!!!!"

If and when it does, you can laugh about the statements you made when you were younger, and it will help you to be more tolerant of the next generation. It'll make you a fun ol' fut.
