I pretty much consider her the antichrist as far as pop music goes, but I think this is a bold move for her.... Considering how image oriented and artistically empty her musick is, this is pretty unexpected.

She will no doubt continue to be in the public eye, which is what she really wants (despite what she claims about wanting privacy) She will most likely make her angry, Alanis Morrisette - esque "risky" album, and the ass kissers at Rolling Stone will applaud her for making an "edgy" album, because her albums are all Disney fodder.

She will once again be huge because she "re-invented herself", "like Madonna" and be on every magazine cover again, sporting her new, edgy, more serious semi bald head look, and her more "edgy" music, which will sound, most likely like Kelly Clarkson's "Since You've Been Gone" (probably get written by the same guy)...ie: not edgy at all, just "rock" with some angst ridden lyrics about her "tragic" life.

So, we will have to endure another 5 years of Britney Pop Stardumb again.

Yea, call me jaded, but I bet I'm right.

BTW....I'll volunteer my songwriting services for this endeavor

I won't be watching, and neither will my daughters. I'm just glad my girls like Mom's Sheryl Crow stuff. And then they also love High School Musical. I'm in no hurry for the kids in that show to get bitten by the stardumb bug!

Ha! Word, Tiki. Thanks for the thought LG, but we've got all the "hot chick" the band will ever need! With or without her tresses.

Truthfully, though, I'm not at all surprised (or even particularly interested) by Spears' spectacle. She was crammed down the throat of impressionable, record buying pre-teens. She's made enough money to offer $25M to her hillbilly babydaddy to piss off. That's a lot of records, even if the music is insipid and vacant. She's just another slow motion train wreck waiting to happen. Hope the best for the kids.

Personally, I don't think it's as much about a shaved head as it is the mental/emotional impetus behind shaving it. Look at the behavior that's led up to it. Clearly the girl is in crisis mode. She's partying 'til she passes out. She's forgetting <g> to put on underwear! She checks in and out of rehab in 24 hours. How hard does she have to fall before she realizes she needs help. If she falls as hard as ANS, it'll be too late. She has 2 babies to care for...regardless of her age, fame, fortune and ability to hire nannies. At this point nannies are probably a better option of those 2 innocent babies than either parent. Britney's acting in a self-destructive, immature and selfish manner. She's making some rotten choices regardless of her age. She chose motherhood. It's time for her to honor that commitment instead of acting like a stinking rich slut. Clearly she needs professional help...youth notwithstanding.

I had hair down to my okole for 10 years, and finally shaved it when a spectacularly dysfunctional long term relationship finally fell apart altogether. It was supremely liberating.
