Yes, although I may purchase a lei for anyone coming in to visit our islands, the rewards are much greater. Friendship blossoms and knowing they will take back with them a part of our aina and customs which no Tourist Tour could ever show or teach them.

I am blessed to have been born in this Magical Mystic Place called Hawai'i. Her beauty is well known. It is only befitting for me to welcome anyone who simply ask. I am not a millionaire. Nevertheless, the leis will always be furnished. I don't worry about stuff lil dat.

Auntie Lynn... I"ve read alot of this thread and I think you are amazing and very special! I understood the original post and wanting the lei greeting.. as we're coming in April and ours is set up by the hotel. I thought it would be memorable for my son as well. But after reading this thread I can see why it's silly if it doens't come from true aloha feelings. I'm learning so much and am very grateful. And you my dear are a very special woman! I hope to get to know you more online here. And maybe if all works out we can meet when we visit next year. Heck, I"d love to meet you all... but of course you dont know me well yet.. we have 6 months.. ha ha Auntie Lynn, My husband showed me your myspace.. I'm going to go there and request you to be my friend.. just so you know who I am when I do. Mahalo for who you are!!

To everyone else who made HawaiiDreaming's visit so special.. KUDO'S TO YOU!!!! You're awesome!

Oh Auntie Lynn that would be so nice!! I'd love to meet you, and heck the whole family would. Of course it's just Jeff, Myself and our son Dylan.. the rest will be home. Our daughters are grown and off on their own, and our oldest son Brandon is blind and physically handicapped. He'll be going into his own home (A wonderful group home) in January. So it's just us.

I will read your story asap. Thank you for such a warm welcome. This whole board has been incredible!! My husband told me about your site and I had read a little but I want to read it all. I have much admiration for what you do.

Much of my own story is at http://www.bowersgarden.com/bowers/aboutsally.html and www.myspace.com/sallyab

The bowersgarden one needs to be updated, but it's basically a brief bio

                Talk to you soon!!!
                Aloha!

Aloha all. Keiki here, completely amazed at threads such as this one --

As Sally, I'm humbled and awed at the aloha shown by Auntie and others. Obviously, the best lei greeting turned out to be one from someone giving a true island welcome, happy to see the guest, happy to bring her into the local scene.

I've been looking for this site for a long time (for a site on Hawaii and it's people, culture, aloha), and am so glad to have found it.

I'll be in Maui in February, with my little girl, and maybe there will be some of you to meet then. But thanks to this thread, I've already decided she and I will give leis to each other after touching the raw land of Maui. And then the flowers will welcome us to the land.

                      Mahalo.
