    Re: yer fave comedians

All time def gotta be Robin Williams

    Eddie Murphy
    Bobby Slayton
    Chris Rock
    George Carlin
    Ron White
    Steven Wright
    Gallagher

I like Comics who use harsh, mean sarcasm on real life "idiot logic" situations.
They crack me up. I used to be the Bartender/MC at a comedy club. Actually got a couple laughs once. Currently writing a funny play about my favorite subject - Cognitive Dissonance. It's a seat squirmer if you're an illogical person. George Bush would hate it. So would most liberals.

      George Carlin, of course

      DICE (in his Heyday)

      Dom Irerra

Tim Allen (his standup in the 80's was great)

      Rodney Dangerfield (R.I.P)

      Robin Harris (R.I.P)

      Bill Icks (R.I.P)

      Richard Pryor

      Robert Shimmel

      Eddie Murphy (80's)

Henry Rollins ... not necessarily standup comedy, but I see him whenever he comes around.

        Re: yer fave comedians

Most influential on my humor, growing up --- George Carlin, Jonathan Winters, Robin Williams, Steven Wright, British comedy (Beyond the Fringe, I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again, Monty Python's Flying Circus.) To this day, I still enjoy UK comics such as Rowan Atkinson, Lenny Henry, Dawn French, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie (yes, the star of "House"), Mel Smith, Griff Rhys-Jones, "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (both UK & US versions), etc. There's a lot of good comedians coming out of Canada these days, such as Rick Mercer, Colin Mochrie, Shawn Majumder, et al.

I was founder/co-leader of a semi-improvisational sketch comedy troupe from 1974-1984, and writer/producer of radio comedy material from 1982-1990. Haven't done any comedy on a professional basis since then.

When I was younger, and the dude was alive, I thought Sam Kinison owned comedy. Movies tried to capture his essence, but only when he was on stage did the room quake. Stand up was his element.

In 1979, I went to the L.A. Comedy Store. The drop-in alumnus that evening was none other than .......... ROBIN WILLAMS! The man is a GENIUS!

A couple of months ago, we went to the Blaisdell Concert Hall to see LEWIS BLACK. My kids watch him all the time on cable.

These days, I watch GEORGE CARLIN (he's still relevant today), CHRIS ROCK, RITA RUDNER, DIANE FORD, and JUDY TENUTA, among others.

I like Steven Wright and Gallagher as much as I love George Carlin. If you ever get the chance, buy or borrow Eddie Murphy's RAW stand up movie. But don't watch it with your favorite bed warmer.

Gilbert Gottfried....the most underrated comic around today.

When Gilbert dies, birds(AFLAC duck and Aladdin)will have no voice.

                                he's the king of one-liners.

he's also a writer for conan o'brien who is the funniest man alive IMO.
