Re: Favorite Quotes - Chapter 2
Hate usually pays poor returns. A lot of psych experts contend that hate is both a cry for help by insecure people and the externalization of some amount of self-hatred. We don't know about any of that, but we do know that for less than $10 you can buy a Zen garden. And we know that working the sands of one's garden is much more productive than become the slave of others by virtue of hating them.

Re: Favorite Quotes - Chapter 2
from the movie 'Meet Joe Black'
~ Love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without. If you don't start with that, what are you going to end up with? Fall head over heels. I say find someone you can love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart. I'm not hearing any heart. Run the risk, if you get hurt, you'll come back. Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love - well, you haven't lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven't tried, you haven't lived.~
William Parrish

Re: Favorite Quotes - Chapter 2
At least one way of measuring the freedom of any society is the amount of comedy that is permitted, and clearly a healthy society permits more satirical comment than a repressive, so that if comedy is to function in some way as a safety release then it must obviously deal with these taboo areas. This is part of the responsibility we accord our licensed jesters, that nothing be excused the searching light of comedy. If anything can survive the probe of humour it is clearly of value, and conversely all groups who claim immunity from laughter are claiming special privileges which should not be granted.
-Eric Idle, comedian, actor, and author (b. 1943)
