Re: U2's Vertigo Tour Ending in Hawaii?

U2 plays the stadium April 8, with an April 9 backup sellout date.

And Steve Miller Band plays Diamond Head Crater on April 1 (no joke).

Still no official listing on the U2 website. But this morning, KSSK reported tickets go on sale Saturday at the usual outlets.

It's on the U2 site, now. Also, according to Ticketmaster, presale for people with unused codes starts Jan 10. :

I already took vacation days for April 8th and 9th. This is one show I don't want to only see the first three songs of.

I hope it won't be $65 for the cheap seats ala Eagles.

Best "seats" are general admission. If you're lucky, you'll be one of the chosen few to go inside the hoop for the show.

I'll be camped and run like a bastard when the doors open.

This show is completely off the hook. Considering the amount of equipment involved, the ticket prices are actually pretty good.

A few more details from the Star-Bulletin. There'll be 15,000 "general admission" tickets at $49.50 to get on the field -- no seats, no bringing chairs. $165 gets you a seat in the lower blue and orange sections of the stadium, and $95 puts you in brown, red, and yellow (a.k.a. the "nosebleed section").

My inclination would be to agree that the field is probably the best bet, and definitely more like the concert experience I'd envision. I'm surprised it'll cost more, actually, to be further back in the stands.

Then again, I must be getting old, 'cause I can still see the appeal of having a reserved seat, versus camping out and running like a bastard as dick says.

Man that's why I hate concerts at Aloha Stadium. Even if you were sitting in the orange, it's still not close enough... and for that price? Probably gonna get General admission to get up close... but dang I ain't a kid anymore... I wanna sit down.

saw Tower of Power with... a few friends da odda night and boy were they good. BUT ya know, da HIC seems alot smaller nowadays. Seemed much bigger back when i saw the Stones there early 70's. and others...
Aloha stadium, was about 14 rows from da stage bridges to babylon concert. THEN, when da bridge wen go steh coming, da manini stage wen pop up, and then we saw we were just 3 rows from 'the stage"!

                        Tix are already being scalped:

it took an hour to sell out everything... but the 'cheap' (better) "seats" went faster...
