      I love Howard Thurman quotes.

I'd like to share these with you today:

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

“Community cannot for long feed on itself; it can only flourish with the coming of others from beyond, their unknown and undiscovered brothers.”

And one from I dunno who...

“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”

I woke up screaming and in pain yesterday morning. Underneath my left foot felt as if it was being twisted and torn apart. PK rushed me to the doctor. I'll have to watch da Mayor from the sidelines.

            Awwww...too sweet.

The days are winding down for the Primary. I'm busy preparing for this Saturday's Democratic Region 4 Meeting. I've already given two Public Speeches.

I'm meeting my constituents and people from all over. Listening to their concerns, their personal struggles, hopes and what they want...I stand tall knowing I have taken the opportunity to run for office. It's not about money. It's about believing in the American Dream and wanting to make it better.

Hard work but most of all, FAITH in GOD!!

I was dreaming. Kicked a Bad person in his arse!

                  Too funny.

The doctor said it was due to the muscles doing something. I have to keep my foot elevated while I sleep which is hilarious in itself. She prescribed me Meloxicam. I took it twice. Makes me sleepy. Doesn't take away the pain.

If it gets worse, they'll have to make me a special thingy for my foot.

I lasted five minutes sign waving this morning with my tears falling. I tried my best to stay but it was no use. The expression on my face showed the pain I was in. Bed rest and computa checks when allowed.

I can take all kinds of pain.

Birth pain, punches, slaps, you name it.

Pain in foot...I cry like a BABY!

                  (No tell my opponents.)

Someone advised me to have "acupuncture" on my foot.

                      Does anyone have a recommendation.

Yeek!! My recommendation would be -

Don't let people stick needles in your foot!!

Yep. I recommend that you use the teeniest tiniest needles known to mankind!
Seriously, I hope it all works out and that you feel better soon, Auntie.

Rotate cold and heat (about five minutes each) for a day or so when ever you can. Then when you can tolerate pressure on the bottom of your foot, get a golf ball, put it on the floor and then while sitting roll your foot toe to heel/up and down on the golf ball. It'll massage your metatarsal arch for you and relax the muscles in the foot.

Just a head's up...insurance usually doesn't cover this type of care. YMMV...

Re: Uh-Oh! I think I just met Aunty Pupule!

Over the last 10+ years, I've had a condition called "Plantar Fascitis" (don't know if I spelled it right). It's very painful and painkillers don't always help. It's worse in the mornings when you first get out of bed because the muscle under the foot tends to tighten up during the night. It takes a while for it to stretch out again. My Dr. suggested that I not go barefoot anymore. So now, I wear slippers inside & out! Not fun, but it helps. and keeping your foot elevated when you sleep does help..........sometimes.

It's painful and the only way I really got rid of it was to wear a cast on my foot for about 6 weeks - that kept me from putting any pressure on the foot and let the muscle recover from the inflamation. Of course, we didn't know that would happen until I broke my ankle & realized when the cast came off, that my foot problem had gone away. When I got the same problem in the other foot - I asked for a cast to be put on. It cured that one also!

I don't know if this is the condition you have, but you might want to ask your Dr. about it.

(and Peskwe's response sounds like a pretty good idea also)
