Re: Disappearing eating establishments
Does anyone have any information on the sugar free bakery Sweet Nothings? When they closed I had heard that the owner was thinking of opening a store out in Kapolei.

Noticed Carls Jr. @ Kahala Mall is gone, not sure if it is a temporary thing as they are doing renovations at the mall right now.....

Re: Disappearing eating establishments
We were at Honuz in Kailua for Father's Day - best prime rib ever - and the place was packed - Hawaiian music night, etc. Drove by there last night and the place is totally dark/empty! No furniture inside, no sign on the door - wha' happen?

Couldn't decide whether this belongs in "disappearing" or "new" eating establishments (altho' the venue is more a 'drinking' establishment):

Cold Stone Creamery at Salt Lake Shopping Center is closed.
I went there once. Never went back. Who wants to pay six bucks for an ice cream cone?
Lets see what's next. Wish there was a tavern there.

Nothing wrong with the way it was, but perhaps they want a look that's more chic and modern like Goma Tei. We'll see.

I wish they'd open a Goma Tei in Waikiki.
I miss Daruma. They had the best, most authentic Tokyo style Ramen I've tasted on the island yet. They used to have a location on Koreamoku street in front of Sam Sung plaza, and another newer location in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center.Last edited by Pomai; April 19, 2010, 02:49 PM.
